The Founder's Story

Rooted in Educational Advocacy

Comprehensive Assessment Services was founded by Donald Ghrist, LEP, with a clear mission: to provide California families and school districts with truly independent, high-quality educational evaluations. After witnessing too many students receive inadequate or biased assessments, Donald established CAS to set a higher standard.

We've grown into a trusted resource for Independent Educational Evaluations across California. Our multidisciplinary team includes Licensed Educational Psychologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Adaptive PE specialists—all committed to accurate, compassionate assessments.

Our team is licensed, experienced, and focused on doing what's right for each student. From the initial referral to the final IEP meeting, we handle your evaluation needs with expert care and unwavering integrity.

Our Evaluation Process

Professional IEE service from start to finish.

Referral

Parents request an IEE or districts contract directly. We handle all consent forms and records requests.

Assessment

Our specialists conduct comprehensive testing, observations, and interviews across all relevant domains.

Report

Within 30 days, we deliver a detailed written report with findings and specific IEP recommendations.

IEP Support

Our evaluators attend IEP meetings to present findings and collaborate with the team.
